When it comes to making homemade pizza, I often find myself in one of two modes. Either I’m sticking to the classics, or I saw a random food the other day and am now wondering if I can turn it into a pizza.

Needless to say, this mindset has led to quite a few pizza flops over the years, but surprisingly it has also led to a lot more wins in the kitchen than I would have imagined. And I’m happy to say this bacon jalapeño popper pizza recipe is one of those wins.

This pizza was created, one, because I love jalapeno poppers, and two, because I love homemade pizza.

This easy homemade pizza recipe perfectly combines the heat of the jalapeno pepper, with a creamy spicy sauce, crisp salty bacon,  and melty cheese, to create a pizza that not only tastes exactly like a jalapeno popper. But also a pizza that is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it!

I love serving this pizza during football games, but it’s also great for movie nights, parties, and even holidays. It’s easy enough to make for weeknight suppers, and it can even be served as a fun appetizer!

Directions

Prepare your pizza dough according to the recipe instructions. Once the dough is risen divide it in half.

Roll each half out on a lightly floured surface, then transfer the crust to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Drizzle each crust with a little olive oil and set aside until ready to top.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

In a small bowl combine all of the sauce ingredients, and mix until smooth and creamy.

Divide the sauce in half, and spoon it onto your prepared pizza crusts. Using the back of a spoon gently spread the sauce out until it covers the whole pizza crust.

Next, sprinkle your cheese(the mozzarella, followed by the pepper jack.) over the two crusts, doing your best to keep an even layer of cheese on each pizza.

Layer the pickled jalapenos over the cheese, and finally top the pizzas with your crumbled bacon pieces.

Place the pizzas in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the top is golden brown.

Allow the pizza to cool for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serve with a side of ranch dressing and enjoy!
