You may notice that healthy recipes aren’t exactly the number one thing I post here. Not that the recipes I usually sure aren’t good for you. But given my goal in life is simply to make everything from scratch and cook in season. I wouldn’t exactly call myself a health nut and I certainly wouldn’t consider the recipes I share to be super healthy.

But I do try my best to make good and smart choices when it comes to what I put in my body. I try to eat lots of vegetables and fresh food. I try to take my vitamins daily, and lately, I’ve been trying to remember to take my collagen as well.

Before I get into why I love collagen though. This is a friendly reminder that I’m not a doctor and this is not to be taken as medical advice. Please talk to your doctor or a health care professional, and do your own research before taking collagen.

That being said however collagen is great, and I love it! Collagen is known around the world for its many benefits. Collagen has been known to help improve healthy joints and skin elasticity, and it also encourages healthy nail and hair growth.

Plus Collagen is also a great source of protein, with most powders having up to 18 grams of protein per serving! I love to use collagen in my smoothies, and coffee. But this banana shake has got to be my favorite way to use collagen!

Made with just 3 simple ingredients, this recipe is quick, easy, and great after a long walk, as a mid-day snack, or even post-workout!

How to Make a Banana Collagen Shake

Ingredients

  • ripe bananas, you can also use frozen banana for this recipe if you are looking for a thicker texture.
  • milk, I like to use whole milk, but you can also use 1%, 2%, skim milk, oat milk, almond milk, cashew milk, or any kind of milk you like.
  • collagen powder. My favorite one to use is Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides Powder. But you can use your favorite brand of collagen!

Directions

Place all the ingredients in a high-powered blender. And blend on low speed, until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If you are having trouble blending your shake, try adding a little more milk.

Pour into a tall glass(I like to serve mine in mason jars!) and serve immediately.

Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend storing this banana shake as it will start to separate quite quickly. It is best made and drank immediately!

I prefer my shakes to have a slightly thinner texture, but if you want yours to be thicker, or you added too much milk to your shake. You can add a few ice cubes to the blender to help thicken it up!
