Growing up in a state where it is literally cold for six months of the year, I try to soak up as much of summer as I possibly can. I spend lots of lazy afternoons lounging in the sun, wishing we owned a pool, or better yet, that I lived on a tropical beach somewhere.
But I also spend a lot of time during the summer cooking and making frozen treats.
I’m always looking for new ways to add raw vegetables and tropical fruits to the recipes I make. And lately, I’ve been working on some new refreshing summer drinks, for us adults to enjoy.
In my mind, frozen cocktails are the grown-up equivalent of having a popsicle on a hot afternoon or after a long summer day. And this frozen daiquiri recipe always seems to hit the spot!
This easy frozen mango daiquiri might just be my new favorite summer cocktail, not simply because there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer evening than a sweet, fruity frozen cocktail.
But also because it’s super easy to make, and it gives me the chance to use my favorite mango rum, in yet another cocktail recipe:)
This drink is easy enough to whip up any time you are in the mood for a cold cocktail, but it is also fun and impressive enough to be served at summer dinner parties or get-togethers!
And as always I’ve included a just as easy and delicious mocktail version, so everyone can enjoy this cool refreshing drink!
How to make frozen mango daiquiris
Equipment
- a powerful blending
- a glass for serving, you can use a martini glass, a daiquiri glass, or any serving glass you like!
Ingredients
- white rum, you can use almost any type of rum for this recipe, light rum, silver rum, or even coconut rum. I would advise against using a dark rum or a spiced run though as it will change the flavor drastically!
- mango rum, you can sub coconut rum or more of the white rum
- orange juice
- fresh lemon juice, you can also use fresh lime juice
- simple syrup, homemade or store-bought
- frozen mango chunks, you can use fresh mango as well, but the finished drink won’t be as thick
- ice cubes
Directions
Place all the ingredients in an upright blending, and blend on high speed until, smooth and creamy. Your daiquiri should have a smooth texture and be the consistency of a thick mango puree.
Pour the finished daiquiri into your glass of choice and garnish with a thin lemon slice or lemon wedge. You can also garnish your daiquiri with a thin lime wedge, or slice, a twist of lemon or lime peel, a thin piece of mango flesh, a thin slice of mango peel, or a chunk of ripe mango on a cocktail skewer!

Recipe Notes
If you are having trouble getting your daiquiri to blend, add a little more orange juice, to help loosen it up. You can also add more orange juice or rum to help thin out your daiquiri if it is too thick.
If you do opt to use fresh mango for this recipe, you’ll probably want to add a bit of extra ice to help create a thicker, creamy texture!
I love to use my homemade simple sugar syrup for this recipe, but if you are looking for a lightly healthy option, or something less sweet, you can use liquid honey or agave nectar. You can even cut the sweeter out altogether if you like!
Mocktail version – kid-friendly mango daiquiri
Ingredients

- coconut water
- lemon juice
- simple syrup
- frozen mango chunks
- ice cubes

Combine all the ingredients in an upright blender and blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. If your drink is too thick, add a little more orange juice or coconut water, to help blend everything!

It may not be the healthiest thing in the world, but I love to add plain Greek yogurt to this mocktail version and create a delicious tropical smoothie!

- 1 oz mango rum you can sub coconut rum or more of the white
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice you can also use fresh lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup homemade or store-bought
