If you’re looking for the perfect and easy cocktail for this summer, then this recipe is for you. Over the past year, I’ve fallen in love with cocktails, fancy ones, easy ones, pretty ones, and simple ones, and this tropical cocktail is no exception. Long before I ever created my first cocktail recipe, a mango rum cocktail was already on my do-to list.

My older brother loves, mango rum, and I have to agree with him, that’s a great choice for just about everything, there isn’t much mango rum doesn’t work with.

And it can be used in a variety of different cocktails, cocktails such as a mango mojito, mango daiquiri, mango martini a mango margarita the mango rum swizzle, it can so be sued in pretty much any rum punch recipe.

Needless to say, mango rum is a pretty thing to have in your liquor cabinet. And though I would probably write a whole post about it, I won’t. This post is about cocktails, specifically this easy and amazing mango crush cocktail.

Seriously guys cocktail making doesn’t get any easier than this, not only does this recipe only call for 2 ingredients, (3 if you count the ice). But you also don’t need anything more than a glass and maybe a bar spoon to make it. No cocktail shaker, or fancy ice cubes here!

This makes the perfect cocktail for any summer get-together, or at-home happy hour and its refreshing and fun fruity flavor is sure to make it a hit with everyone!

Mango Rum

Okay, I lied, I’m not quite down talking about mango rum yet. Mango rum is my favorite kind of rum and Malibu is my favorite brand. This post is not sponsored in any way, I just really love their rum and wanted to give them a quick shout-out! (I might also add that they make coconut rum, strawberry rum, passion fruit run, and more!)

If you can’t find Malibu Mango Rum, feel free to use whatever brand you can find. If you can’t mango rum at all, you can sub a sliver rum, light rum, or white rum, but you will need to add some mango juice or mango puree to your cocktail.

The mango rum is the only mango flavor added to the cocktail so be sure to keep that in mind if are switching it out.

Also don’t use a spiced or dark rum for this recipe, while they are great on their own and in many different drinks, they do not belong in fum summer cocktail!

How to Make a Mango Crush Cocktail

makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 shot of mango rum
  • Orange juice
  • Crushed ice

Directions

Fill your glass almost to the top with crushed ice(I like to use a shorter glass or a whisky glass, but you can use whatever you like)

Add the mango rum, and fill the remaining space with orange juice.

Give a quick stir and serve!

You can garnish this cocktail with a slice of ripe mango or mango peel, OR a orange slice. But for some reason, I like to serve this cocktail as is with no garnish at all.

Notes

If you find straight orange juice and rum to be a little too strange you can use one part orange juice and one part club soda, seltzer water soda water, or even a lemon-lime soda.

You can easily add more Mango Rum to this recipe as well, I prefer mine with 2-3 shots of rum, but I tend to make it milder when I am serving it to guests.

If you don’t have a way to make crushed ice, you can use a few ice cubes instead.

Mango Crush Mocktail

If you are planning to serve this drink at an event that includes kinds, or you have friends that can’t drink (or you don’t drink yourself) you can easily make this mocktail version!

Ingredients

crushed ice

1 part mango juice

1 part orange juice

Fill a glass with crushed ice, add the juices, give it a quick stir, and enjoy! Again you can garnish this drink with fresh mango slices, orange slices, or even a sprig of mint, But I prefer to leave it without any garnish.

You can also use pineapple juice, or another tropical or citrus juice.
