What is the difference between pomegranate syrup and pomegranate molasses?

A common question I get asked, and that I find a lot on the internet is What is the difference between pomegranate syrup and molasses? Is there a difference and which is better?

The truth of the matter is that there isn’t one! Pomegranate syrup and pomegranate molasses are just two names for the same things, and they can easily be used interchangeably. The only real difference between the two is that pomegranate molasses has a thicker consistency, which is created by boiling it slightly longer.

And you can easily use the same recipe to create either one! If you are looking to make pomegranate syrup, simply cook the mixture till it is the consistency of syrup. If you are looking to create pomegranate molasses, simply continue to cook the mixture until it has thickened to the consistency of molasses!
