At the beginning of September each year, I compile a list, I list of the fall recipes I want to make. From old favorites to new dishes I’ve never heard of, to random ideas that pop into my head. Last year that random idea was to make a white chocolate pumpkin latte.
I was a little over the usual pumpkin spice at the time, don’t get me wrong I still love a homemade pumpkin spice latte. But I’m just not really a pumpkin spice kind of gal, at least not when it comes to my drinks.
This latte was at the top of my list of new recipes to work on last fall, and this year it’s at the top of my list of things to make again as soon as cool weather sets in.
This easy-to-make white chocolate latte(or Cinderella latte, if you’re a Starbucks kind of person.) tastes like everything I love about fall, while the white chocolate adds a creamy sweetness you just can’t get anywhere else.
It’s the perfect drink to make for long walks on crisp mornings or to enjoy on a cool evening while curled up with a good book.
This latte is also a great drink to make in late fall, as it also perfectly combines fall and winter flavors. It’s perfect for the start of the holiday season, and is sure to be a hit with any pumpkin lover!
The best part about this drink though is that it is super easy to make, it’ll save you tons of time and money, and it doesn’t have any questionable ingredients. Plus you can enjoy this creamy fall latte anytime without even having to leave the comfort of home!
How to Make a White Chocolate Pumpkin Latte
Ingredients.
- Whole milk –You can use any kind of milk you prefer. Coconut milk, almond milk, oat milk, and skim milk will all work as well.
- Heavy cream, also called Heavy whipping cream
- Good quality white chocolate chips, I like to use Ghirardelli, but you can use whatever brand your local grocery store carries.
- Real pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling! You want just plain 100% pumpkin puree, homemade or canned.
- strong brewed coffee, OR 2 shots of espresso OR 3 tbsps water + 1 tbsp instant coffee
- Vanilla extract –optional
- Homemade whipped cream or cool whip- Optional for serving
Directions
In a small saucepan combine the milk and vanilla extract if using. Heat over medium heat, whisking constantly until the milk is hot and bubbles begin to form around the edges of the pan.
Add the white chocolate chips and continue whisking until they are completely melted. Finally, add the pumpkin puree, and whisk until combined.
Prepare your coffee, and pour it into your favorite cup. Pour the milk mixture over it, and stir to combine. Top with whipped cream if desired and enjoy!
To make super easy homemade whipped cream, simply combine, 1 cup heavy cream, 2 tbsps powdered sugar, and 3 tsp vanilla extract in a large bowl. Beat using an electric mixer at high speed until stiff peaks form. Enjoy!
Notes
If you don’t have white chocolate chips, you can use white chocolate syrup or white chocolate sauce instead.
If you want to make this latte a little spicy or add a little pumpkin spice flavor, try adding 1/4-1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
I wouldn’t recommend making this recipe ahead of time, as lattes tend to separate quickly. However, you can easily double, triple, and even quadruple this recipe!
