This blue mermaid lemonade is, in my mind, the perfect summer drink. After all, what’s more refreshing and delicious on a hot afternoon than a cold glass of lemonade? As a long-time lover of lemonade, it probably doesn’t come as any surprise that spiked lemonade is my favorite summer cocktail.
But seriously, this spiked lemonade recipe just seems to scream summer, and I think it’s everything I used to imagine cocktails were when I was a little girl.

From the fun blue color, added sparkle, and of course, delicious lemonade flavor, this drink is basically summer fun in a glass.
This spiked lemonade is perfect for pool parties, the 4th of July, cookouts, girls’ nights, and pretty much everything in between. You can easily make a whole pitcher of mermaid lemonade or serve it by the glass.

It can be made with premade lemonade or any of your favorite homemade lemonade recipes. This is honestly one of the easiest summer cocktail recipes out there, and is sure to be a hit with everyone.
Plus, I’ve included a just as fun and pretty alcohol-free version so everyone, even the kids, can enjoy this fun and yummy drink!

How To Make Mermaid Spiked Lemonade
Ingredients
- ice cubes
- blue curacao
- white rum, you can also use silver rum
- lemonade, store-bought or homemade
- sliver edible glitter, optional, but adds fun sparkle to the finished drink! You can also use any color of edible glitter you like!
Garnish ideas
- lemon slices
- maraschino cherries
- drink umbrellas

Directions
You can make this drink in a pitcher or by the glass; the directions below are for making it by the glass. This recipe makes 4 servings.
Place a little bit of ice into each of your four cocktail glasses (roughly a 1/2 cup of ice in each glass)
Next, pour roughly 1 tbsp of blue curaçao into each glass, followed by 1/4-1/2 tsp edible glitter. Next, pour a 1/4 cup of rum into each glass, and finally top with the lemonade, roughly 1 cup in each glass. Give each cocktail a quick stir to swirl the glitter around.
Garnish and serve immediately.
Enjoy!

Recipe Notes
To make this mermaid spiked lemonade by the pitcher, I would recommend doubling the amount of each ingredient. Fill a large pitcher about 1/3 of the way with ice, add the remaining ingredients, along with a handful of lemon slices, stir, and serve immediately!
If you are planning on making a pitcher of this mermaid drink for a party, I would recommend combining everything but the ice in a pitcher and popping it in the fridge until you are ready to serve. Then you can either serve it over ice or add some ice to the pitcher, then serve!
