I love making drinks of all kinds, but cocktails are by far my favorites! They are always fun, with endless possibilities, and not only are they always a hit, but they are a quick and easy way to impress your guests!

And while making cocktails is always fun, making mocktails is just as enjoyable. I come from a family who doesn’t drink a whole lot, and who always has more than a few younger kids running around. So I understand the importance of having drinks on the menu that everyone can enjoy. Regardless of their age.

I also know that there are many reasons even adults cannot, or choose not to drink cocktails or any form of alcohol. Which is why I always make sure to include a mocktail version of every cocktail recipe I share here on the blog. And also why I wanted to share this quick and easy blueberry lime mocktail!

This flavorful mocktail is not only super easy to make, but it calls for just 3 ingredients, and since it is alcohol-free it’s perfect for serving on any occasion. Baby showers, bridal showers, dinner parties, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother’s Day brunch, and everything in between!

What Kind of  Blueberry Syrup Should I Use?

When I first created this recipe I used Monin Blueberry Syrup Monin is still one of my favorite brands for simple syrup, I love that they use few and simple ingredients, and rarely any preservatives. Their blueberry simple syrup has a great blueberry flavor and just the right amount of sweetness!

Monin is still one of my favorite brands and is my go-to choice when I am looking to buy simple syrup of any kind. That being said, however, these days I rarely buy simple syrup, instead, I make my own!

I love making berry simple syrup, and it couldn’t be any easier to make! If you are looking to learn how to make blueberry syrup at home, be sure to check out my post/recipe How to Make Berry Simple Syrup(with any kind of berry!).

What is Ginger Beer

You might be wondering why on earth a mocktail recipe calls for beer, and I get the name might be a little confusing. But Ginger Beer, actually isn’t beer at all! Ginger beer is a popular ginger soda that comes from Europe. Recently it has started to pop up all throughout the use USA and is especially popular for making cocktails and mocktails.

Ginger beer is a more flavorful, and often healthier version of the more commonly known soda, ginger ale. And you can likely find more than a few brands at your local grocery store! Or it can be ordered online. I love using ginger beer in many of my cocktail and mocktail recipes, and I especially love the way it pairs with the flavors of this blueberry lime mocktail!

If you are in a pinch though, or are having trouble finding ginger beer, you can always use ginger ale instead or your favorite ginger soda!

Recipe Notes

If you like you can serve this mocktail over ice, if you plan to, I would recommend mixing the drink in a separate glass first, then pouring it into your glass of ice cubes.

If you aren’t a fan of ginger soda, you can easily use your favorite lemon-lime soda, or even club soda for this recipe!

Fresh mint leaves or a skewer of fresh blueberries also make a great garnish for this recipe.

Lemon juice can be used in place of the lime juice in this recipe, to create a refreshing Blueberry Lemon Mocktail!

While it’s always good to have a few easy mocktail recipes around, this recipe can also be turned into a cocktail! If you would like to turn this recipe into a cocktail I would recommend adding 1-2 oz of vodka or white rum per serving.

  1. I don’t actually drink alcohol, but this sounds delicious anyway! I’m a big fan of ginger-ale, I wonder if I could make a virgin version?

    1. This actually is virgin! Ginger beer is Europe and Australia’s version of ginger ale. It is a ginger soda with a stronger ginger flavor and less sugar than ginger ale and is 100% alcohol-free!
