- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. Noodles of choice I love using homemade pasta for this recipe, but ramen noodles, rice noodles, lo mein noodles, wheat noodles, or any type of long pasta work great!
- 1 1/2 cups chopped cabbage you can also use bean sprouts or even a pre-chopped coleslaw mix
- 2 green onions sliced (plus more for topping)
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp Fried chili in oil OR chili oil
- 2 1/2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
- 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 lime juiced
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- sesame seeds for topping
Cook your noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and rinse under cold water. Set aside until ready to use.
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it is completely cooked through. Then drain off any excess grease.
While the beef is cooking, combine the remaining ingredients (except the sesame seeds) in a small bowl and whisk to combine. Set aside.
Once the beef is cooked and drained, add the cooked pasta to the pan and reduce the heat to low. Toss the pasta gently until the beef is combined and the noodles are hot.
Pour the sauce over the noodles and toss until they are completely coated. Remove from the heat and top with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Any leftover spicy beef noodles can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. These noodles can easily be reheated on the stovetop, but are also delicious served cold.
I usually use a 1/2 batch of homemade pasta for this recipe, which serves about two people. The exact amount and weight of the pasta you use for this recipe will depend on the type of pasta you use.
If you’d like to make a milder version of this recipe, feel free to cut the amount of chili oil in half—or skip it altogether! You can also add any of your favorite stir-fry vegetables to this recipe. Chopped white onion, peas, and bell peppers would all be delicious. Just be sure to cook your vegetables before adding the pasta and sauce!
