I’m a dressing kind of girl through and through, whether it’s for my salads, fresh veggies, french fries, or chicken tenders. It seems I’m always in need of some kind of salad dressing.

And over the years I’ve slowly been creating a stockpile of quick and easy homemade versions of all my favorite salad dressings, from classic ranch dressing to Greek and poppy seed dressing. If salad dressing is in the title there is a pretty good chance I have a recipe for it!

And I quite enjoy getting to whip up my favorite salad dressings at home, whenever the need or craving hits. Not to mention they are way cheaper and taste way better than the store-bought versions!

But despite my love of making salad dressing and my seemingly constant need for it, this Caesar dressing has been sitting on my list of recipes to make, for ages.

A little-known fact about me is that I love Caesar salads, they are all my all-time favorite salad, and so naturally I love Caesar salad dressing too.

Or at least the bottled kind we bought from the store when I was growing up. When I first set out to create this recipe, I found myself both surprised and slightly disgusted to learn that most authentic Caesar dressings, called for anchovy paste or some kind of anchovy.

Raw eggs I can handle, cheese in salad dressing I can handle, but seafood? I can’t stand it even in the smallest forms, and I certainly didn’t want to eat in my salad dressing.

My distaste for anchovies and seafood in general, is why this recipe got left on the back burner for so long.

Last month, however, I found myself in need of a good Caesar dressing. And so I finally set out to try and create a quick and easy homemade Caesar salad dressing.

One that didn’t call for raw egg yolks, or anchovy paste and didn’t need a blender or food processor to make.

I’m happy to say that this creamy dressing checks all of those boxes. All while tasting exactly like classic Caesar dressing. And the best part is, that this recipe takes less than 5 minutes to make, has a great shelf life, and is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it!

Recipe Notes

Homemade Caesar dressing can be stored in an airtight container or jar in the fridge for up to 7 days!

The extra virgin olive oil in this recipe is a key ingredient in my mind and adds a nice depth of flavor. But if you are in a pinch you can use, avocado oil, vegetable oil, and even canola oil to make this recipe.

If you are planning to use store-bought mayo to create the mayonnaise base for this dressing, be sure to use real mayo. You don’t want salad dressing or Miracle Whip, as it will make the finished dressing too sweet.

I love using this dressing to make Caesar salads, but it’s also great on wraps, pasta salad, and sandwiches. And it makes a fun and delicious dipping sauce for chicken tenders and fries!
