This is one of those recipes, something so simple, so easy, that I go back and forth forever about whether or not I should even post it.

But there just seems to be something wrong about knowing how to whip up something downright delicious with basically no ingredients and not sharing it with everyone.

And since I’ve already been sitting on this recipe for a very long time, 7 or 8 years already, and I’m not even exaggerating.

I figured it was high time I grabbed a few pictures, stopped dragging my feet, and actually got this drink (or slushy, whatever it is) on the blog.

This blackberry freeze, or blackberry slushy, might just be the easiest summer drink you can make, aside from buying premade lemonade, of course. You need just a few ingredients, almost no time, and something to blend them in; that’s it.

With this easy drink, you’ll be able to whip up the perfect sweet, refreshing treat anytime you want. And the best part is it’s actually pretty healthy, unlike most cold summer treats.

And if your family and kids are anything like the ones I know, it’s a drink that’s sure to be a hit with everyone.

Not to mention, you can use any cream soda to make it, from regular soda to locally made, or your favorite sugar-free version; they all taste delicious!

How To Make a Blackberry Freeze (Blackberry Slushy)

Ingredients

  • Frozen blackberries*
  • Your favorite cream soda. I’ve used just about every type of cream soda available to make this drink, so I can promise it will taste delicious regardless of what brand you use or what your soda is sweetened with.

Directions

Place the frozen blackberries and cream soda into an upright blender and pulse on high speed just until combined. You want a thicker, slushy-like consistency, so be careful not to blend too long, or it will come out watery.

Pour into a large glass and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

*You could make this recipe with fresh blackberries, but you will also have to add ice to help thicken it in order to create a slushy-like consistency.

If you accidentally blend your blackberries for too long, no need to worry! Simply toss some ice into the blender and pulse until you reach your desired consistency.
