This walking tacos pizza is truly a game-changer! It adds a fun new twist to pizza night or taco Tuesday, it’s super easy to make and is perfect for birthday parties, taco night, game day, or any day. Everyone is sure to love this taco pizza recipe, and it couldn’t be easier to make!
Usually, I’m all about cooking from scratch and finding easy meal ideas that replace the overabundance of convenience food in our lives.
But I’ll admit I have a soft for walking tacos, whoever thought of adding your favorite taco ingredients to a bag of chips, was a genius. And a walking taco bar is the perfect party food, especially for large gatherings and football games.
But I just wouldn’t be me if I didn’t find some way to put my spin on every recipe, even one as straightforward as this. I’ve always loved taco and Mexican-inspired pizzas, and I’ve always loved walking tacos, so I suppose it only makes sense that I decided to mix the two, though, oddly enough this is one of those recipes I actually had a reason for creating.
I needed to find an easy dinner one night, we had extra people in the house, and no one could agree on what to eat, some people wanted tacos, some people wanted pizza, and some of us just wanted to eat.
Since tacos and pizza seemed to be the two most popular suggestions, and I was in the mood for walking tacos for some reason or another. (I only had one bag of Fritos though, so walking tacos themselves were out.) So I decided to make simply combine the three, and make a walking tacos pizza!
This recipe is fun, easy, and sure to be a hit, plus you can add any of your favorite taco toppings to it!

How to Make Walking Tacos Pizza
Prepare your pizza crust. I like to make mine and then prep the other toppings while it rises. If you are using premade pizza crust be sure to take it out of the fridge and let it warm up a little before rolling it.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion, until the beef is cooked through. Drain off any excess grease and reduce the heat to low.
Add the taco seasoning and salsa, and stir to combine. Continue to cook over low heat until heat through, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Roll out your pizza crust and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet, I like to use a round one. (to give your crust an extra crunch, sprinkle a little cornmeal on the parchment paper, and place the crust on top!)
With the back of a spoon, gently spread the entire can of chili over the pizza crust, leaving a 1/2 gap around the edge. Add the taco meat, followed by the shredded cheese.
Place the pizza into your hot oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow the pizza to cool slightly, before adding the shredded lettuce and chips. Add the sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Cut, and serve immediately, along with any of your favorite toppings!
Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
Any leftover pizza can be stored in an airtight container or tightly wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in the fridge for up to 5 days!
Any leftover toppings can easily be turned into taco salad for a quick meal the next day!
Feel free to use ground chicken or turkey for this recipe in place of the ground beef. You can also use any kind of meat you would usually make for tacos.
If you like you can use refried pinto beans in place of the canned chili, but everyone I’ve given both to has liked the chili better!
