- 1 pizza crust I like to use my homemade pizza dough for this recipe, but you can use any pizza crust/dough you like. You can even use sourdough or store-bought dough
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 cup dill pickle slices
- 1/2 lb. bacon cooked until crispy, then crumbled
- 1/2-1 tbsp chopped fresh dill OR dried dill weed
- ranch dressing for serving, optional
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface, then transfer to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. (You can also make this pizza in a pizza pan or on a pizza stone.) In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Then pour the mixture onto your prepared pizza crust, and spread it around using the back of a spoon. Be sure to leave roughly a 1/4 gap around the edges of your crust. Next, layer the dill pickle slices over the crust, followed by the crumbled bacon. Then sprinkle the shredded cheeses over the entire pizza.
Sprinkle your chopped fresh dill or dill weed over the top of the pizza, then place the pizza in your preheated oven, and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is nicely melted and the crust is golden brown.
Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Serve with a side of ranch and enjoy!
The oven temperature and bake time in this recipe are based on my regular pizza crust recipe. You may need to adjust one or both, depending on what pizza dough/crust you use.
Any leftover pickle bacon pizza can be stored in an airtight container or wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and stored in the fridge for up to 5 days!
I really love using just olive oil and spices for the sauce in this recipe, as I like to let the pickles be the biggest flavor, but feel free to use your favorite white sauce or garlic sauce instead!
