I’m a huge fan of pickles, and so are several of my siblings. My older sister and I used to have an unspoken competition to see who could eat the most pickles in a week.

And my baby brother has to be reminded that his chicken sandwiches are supposed to have chicken too, not just pickles.

Pickles have been a staple in our house for as long as I can remember: dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, pickle slices, chips, and spears, homemade and store-bought. Let’s just say there are always pickles in the house, and they never last very long!

On a similar note, my family and I eat pizza at least once a week. It used to be frozen pizza with the occasional takeout or take-n-bake pizza. But if you’ve spent any time looking around this blog, you likely know already that we make a lot of our pizzas at home.

Honestly, I still can’t believe how many pizza recipes I’ve shared since starting this blog. Then again, I really shouldn’t be surprised given the fact that I make at least 4 homemade pizzas every Friday night.

Anyways, given our love of pickles and love of pizza, it seemed only a matter of time before I created a homemade pickle pizza.

I shared my spicy pickle pizza a couple of months ago. And while I love that pizza, I still wanted to create a delicious classic pickle pizza recipe.

And I’m happy to say that’s exactly what this pizza is. I might have added some bacon and a nice blend of cheeses, but I created this recipe to give pickles the spotlight they deserve, and that’s exactly what it does!

This recipe is easy to make, delicious, flavorful, and sure to make pickle lovers out of everyone who tries it!

How To Make Pickle Bacon Pizza

Ingreidents

  • Fresh pizza doughI like to use my homemade pizza dough for this recipe, but you can use any pizza crust/dough you like. You can even use sourdough or store-bought dough
  • olive oil
  • garlic powder
  • Italian seasoning
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • parmesan cheese
  • dill pickle slices, or dill pickle chips
  • bacon, cooked until crispy, then crumbled
  • fresh dill, or dried dill weed.
  • Ranch dressing, for serving, optional

Directions

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface, then transfer to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. (You can also make this pizza in a pizza pan or on a pizza stone.)

In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Then pour the mixture onto your prepared pizza crust, and spread it around using the back of a spoon. Be sure to leave roughly a 1/4 gap around the edges of your crust.

Next, layer the dill pickle slices over the crust, followed by the crumbled bacon. Then sprinkle the shredded cheeses over the entire pizza.

Sprinkle your chopped fresh dill or dill weed over the top of the pizza, then place the pizza in your preheated oven, and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is nicely melted and the crust is golden brown.

Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Serve with a side of ranch and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

The oven temperature and bake time in this recipe are based on my regular pizza crust recipe. You may need to adjust one or both, depending on what pizza dough/crust you use.

Any leftover pickle bacon pizza can be stored in an airtight container or wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and stored in the fridge for up to 5 days!

I really love using just olive oil and spices for the sauce in this recipe, as I like to let the pickles be the biggest flavor, but feel free to use your favorite white sauce or garlic sauce instead!
