Ingredients

  • 2 lb french fries I  like to use seasoned fries for this recipe but you can use any kind of french fries you like! Homemade fries, steak fries, waffle fries, curly fries, and even sweet potato fries will all work great! You can even make this recipe with tater tots!
  • 2 cups mac and cheese homemade, boxed, or frozen, just be sure your mac and cheese is cooked and hot before making your loaded fries
  • 2 cups fried chicken cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup shredded cheese I like to use gouda cheese or cheddar cheese for this recipe, but any kind of cheese will work. Mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, Pepper Jack cheese, or a blend of your favorite cheeses will all work.
  • dipping sauce - optional I like to drizzle some of our favorite dipping sauce over the top of these fries and serve a dish of it on the side too! I usually go for the ranch as it’s a family favorite, but feel free to use whatever your family likes best!

Instructions

  • Place your french fries on a baking sheet in a single layer. (I like to line my baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup) Bake according to the package instructions, until hot and crisp.
  • I usually leave my fries on the sheet I baked them on, but if you like you can transfer them to a serving dish or plate.
  • Top the fries with your prepared mac and cheese, and fried chicken, doing your best to keep it evenly spread out over the fries. Then sprinkle the cheese over the top and allow it to melt for 1-2 minutes.
  • Top with a drizzle of your favorite dipping sauce(if using) and enjoy!

Notes

Any leftover loaded fries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days!
I like to pop my fries back in the oven for a few minutes after they are topped to help melt the cheese faster and ensure it’s nicely melted and gooey before serving! This step is completely optional though, and can easily be skipped.
You can also make your fries in a deep fryer or air fryer if you have one!
If you aren’t a fan of fried chicken feel free to use ground beef or ground turkey instead!
