You can thank my little brother for this recipe. He loves sending me endless reels and videos of food, recipes, restaurant promotions, and random people cooking random things.

All of which he naturally asks me to recreate. Actually, he asks why I never put good food like it on my blog, but that’s beyond the point. And I’ll be honest, most of the time I don’t get around to recreating many of the things he sends.

Partly because I already have an ever-growing list of recipes to try and random ideas I’d like to turn into recipes. And partly because most of the ideas he sends just aren’t my style. These loaded fries however happen to be right up my alley!

If you’ve spent any time looking through recipes here on the blog, you’ve likely noticed there are quite a few loaded french fry recipes already. Why? Because I happen to love loaded fries, and this recipe is no exception.

What started as a video from a random fast food restaurant has turned into this delicious loaded fries recipe, topped with mac and cheese and fried chicken it’s hard to go wrong with this easy recipe! It’s perfect for supper, parties, game days, movie nights, and more!

How to Make the Ultimate Loaded Fries!

Ingredients

  • french fries. I like to use seasoned fries for this recipe but you can use any kind of french fries you like! Homemade fries, steak fries, waffle fries, curly fries, and even sweet potato fries will all work great! You can even make this recipe with tater tots!
  • mac and cheesehomemade, boxed, or frozen, just be sure your mac and cheese is cooked and hot before making your loaded fries
  • fried chickencut into bite-sized pieces
  • shredded cheese, I like to use gouda cheese or cheddar cheese for this recipe, but any kind of cheese will work. Mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, Pepper Jack cheese, or a blend of your favorite cheeses will all work.

Dipping sauce ideas.

I like to drizzle some of our favorite dipping sauce over the top of these fries and serve a dish of it on the side too! I usually go for the ranch as it’s a family favorite, but feel free to use any of the options below or whatever your family likes best!

  • ranch dressing Or ranch dip
  • sour cream
  • hot sauce
  • creamy cheese sauce
  • ketchup
  • big mac sauce

Directions

Place your french fries on a baking sheet in a single layer. (I like to line my baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup) Bake according to the package instructions, until hot and crisp.

I usually leave my fries on the sheet I baked them on, but if you like you can transfer them to a serving dish or plate.

Top the fries with your prepared mac and cheese, and fried chicken, doing your best to keep it evenly spread out over the fries. Then sprinkle the cheese over the top and allow it to melt for 1-2 minutes.

Top with a drizzle of your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Any leftover loaded fries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days!

I like to pop my fries back in the oven for a few minutes after they are topped to help melt the cheese faster and ensure it’s nicely melted and gooey before serving! This step is completely optional though, and can easily be skipped.

You can also make your fries in a deep fryer or air fryer if you have one!

If you aren’t a fan of fried chicken feel free to use ground beef or ground turkey instead!
