I’m not sure if you recall, but I recently shared my quick and easy classic mojito recipe (and mocktail!) here on the blog.

I happened to mention that I had never really tried a mojito before making my own, but that it hadn’t taken long for me to fall in love with them.

They are just so simple, delicious, and refreshing, they are perfect for heat waves, and something I plan to enjoy a lot over the summer months.

But in my usual fashion, I got to thinking that while the classic mojito cocktail is delicious, what would make it even better on a hot summer afternoon? Fruit. Fresh fruit, mint, and summer just seem to go hand in hand, and thus this fruit mojito recipe was born!

These fruit mojitos have everything a classic mojito has: rum, mint, and soda water. But this time, I’ve added fresh fruit puree to create a fun and even more delicious cocktail that can easily be changed and adapted to fit any occasion or taste.

I love making these mojitos with berry purees, but you can use any of your favorite fruits to create the perfect summer cocktail with endless flavor possibilities!

With simple ingredients, this fun cocktail is sure to become a hit with everyone who tries it.

  • Simple syrupoptional.  I like to use my homemade simple syrup!

Directions

Before you get into making the cocktail, note that you can either mash your fresh fruit or berries with your muddler in a bowl or your cocktail glass. Or you can puree them ahead of time in a blender or food processor. I usually puree mine ahead of time.

Place roughly 2 tbsp of fresh fruit or berry puree into your cocktail glass of choice, then fill the glass with ice and set it aside until ready to use.

Place 3 mint leaves in your cocktail shaker, and gently crush them with your muddler; you don’t want to rip or tear the leaves, just crush/bruise them to release their fragrance. Add the white rum, lime juice, and simple syrup(if using) to your cocktail shaker, followed by a few ice cubes. Cover and shake for about 10 seconds.

Pour your cocktail mixture into your glass of ice(if your cocktail shaker doesn’t have a pour spout, you can pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer.)

Top your cocktail with club soda, then garnish with a fresh sprig of mint, a piece of fruit or a berry, and/or a lime slice.

Serve and Enjoy!

But you can also make a fruity mojito with fruit juice! Simply add 2 oz of fruit juice in place of the 2 tbsp of fruit puree. Pineapple juice and passion fruit juice are both delicious!
